A soft, permanently tacky sealant used for gaskets, glazing, HVAC ducting, and standing-seam roof/sidewall joints. Butyl sealants stay flexible across a wide temperature range and resist water intrusion, but remain non-paintable and are best suited to concealed or low-UV-exposure joints rather than as a finished exterior caulk.
